Valerie Velardi was born on May 25th, 1950 to parents Leonard Velardi and Dee Velardi. She has a sister and three brothers; Leslie, Leonard, Peter, and Theron.

Valerie’s parents divorced when she was just 12 years old. She and her siblings were with her dad. As the oldest child, Valerie was forced to work and take care of her siblings.

Valerie attended St. Mary’s High School in New Haven, Connecticut. Furthermore, she earned a Bachelor’s degree from Goddard College in Vermont. Valerie also achieved a Master’s degree in dance education from Mills College.

Before Rechard, Valerie was married to Robin Williams for 10 years, from 4 June 1978 to 1988. The couple first met back in 1976 in a tavern in San Francisco, where Robin worked as a bartender while starting his comedy career.

Robin was a bartender there and had a French accent. The pair chatted and one thing led to another and they also shared a kiss on their first meeting.

He was speaknig French and I was teasing him and we had a kiss. And I just knew I was going to see him again. 

Their relationship grew and they walked down the aisle.

Their marriage resulted in the birth of her first child, Zachary Pym Williams. He was born on  April 11, 1983. 

The relationship, however, took a turn for the worse as the couple divorced in 1988 following Robin’s affair with Marsha Garces, their son’s nanny.

Following their separation, Robin walked down the aisle with Marsha in 1989. During that time, she was already pregnany with their first child, Zelda Williams and again another child in November 1991, son, Cody Williams. In contrast, the former actress married Rechard Fataar, and has a daughter, Francesca. 

Velardi admitted that it became more difficult to deal with her husband’s infidelity, especially after the birth of Zachary, and that became the most important reason as to why the couple broke up.

Following four years into Robin Williams’ demise, his first wife, Valerie Velardi revealed the actor’s infidelity issues and also stated that she let her late partner get into other affairs as long as he got back home. She opened up,
