Taking on his profession, Bradley began his music career at the young age of just 16 with the band ‘Hogan’s Heroes’ with Michael Yates and Eric Wilson. Bradley’s experience with the first band did not go as expected. One of the band members describes the journey as:

” I was trying to get them to do (UB40’s version of ) Cherry Oh Baby and it didn’t work. We tried, but it just sounded like garbage. We were horrible”.

He came back to the music industry with punk band Sublime with bassist Wilson and drummer Bud Gaugh, performing in the small shows at the house parties and barbecues. Sublime gained a reputation for their rowdy behavior and eventually became one of the most popular bands in Southern California.

Nowell’s band has several hit songs like Jah Won’t Pay the Bills, 40oz to Freedom which sold over 60,000 copies. Likewise, Sublime gave three platinum album and gold album in its successful years.

Bradley’s band albums collected over $3 million on video sales. Likewise, Rolling Stone reported in March 2010 that the album Sublime had sold over 6 million copies.

Sublime’s final album was released on July 30, 1996. Originally title Killing it was replaced by the eponymous title, Sublime, which enter the Billboard’s Top 20 with a largely acoustic single, What I Got.

Well, talking on his personal life, Bradley Nowell was in a married relationship with his wife Troy Dendekker until his tragic death on 25 May 1996. As a matter of fact, they remained just six days as a man and wife.

Bradly Nowell met Troy through their mutual friends during the early ’90s. Soon after the couple started going out together more frequently and eventually started to date.

Bradley and Troy became proud parents to their son Jakob James Nowell one-year before they exchanged their wedding vows on May 18, 1996, in a Hawaiin-themed ceremony in Las Vagas.

The couple lived together for almost 6 years together before the sudden death of the musician in his hotel room at San Francisco.

Bradley Nowell had a dog named Lou which he purchased for $500 and referred as “Lou Dog”, he became a mascot for the band Sublime.
