It’s quite disgusting to see the increasing trend of child abuse and violence in recent times. The latest name on our radar in this regard is the New Zealand business tycoon, Sir Ron Brierley, a renowned corporate figure that police arrested on December 17, 2019.

The 82-year-old businessman recently rose to the limelight, not in the way one would like. The Australian police checked Brierley’s luggage in the Sydney Airport, found inappropriate child abuse material, and, thus, arrested him. Therefore, today we bring you the concealed details regarding the tycoon’s net worth and his personal life.

Ron Brierley Owns A Whopping Net Worth of $220 Million

Being an expert in the field of business and investments, Sir Ron Brierley is a multi-millionaire. Impressively, the chairman of Mercantile Investments accumulates a staggering net worth of $220 million as of 2019. This made him the 82nd wealthiest New Zealanders according to the NBR’s 2019 Rich List.

With a fortune figure of half a billion, many would be surprised, but contrary to his recent bad-doings, the investor burnt his midnight oil to achieve this stature. Previously, he was the chairman of Guinness Peat Group, Brierley Investments, and aided in many firms and institutions to grow via his funds.

Sir Ron Brierley Arrested on Child Abuse and Pornography

It was quite a shocking scene when the Sydney police found child misuse and abuse materials in Sir Ron Brierley’s luggage on December 17, 2019. However, the check wasn’t unanticipated since many from his neighborhood suspected something fishy. And the Sydney Criminologists also got many requests to take the action they took against Brierley.

The cops checked his baggage and laptops, which helped them confirm their doubts as they found a lot of child abuse content. The business tycoon got a restrictive bail but will have to hire the best lawyers to appear at Downing Center court on February 10, 2020.

Author Yvonne Not Surprised of Ron Brierley’s Arrest for Child Pornography

According to a book in 1990 titled Brierley, the Man Behind the Corporate Legend, Yvonne van Dongen, the writer wrote that Ron loved traveling to Asia, mostly Thailand, where he enjoyed his time with teenage prostitutes.

The book reveals that Brierley was not uncomfortable with his trips to Thailand and his encounter with teenage prostitutes. The author divulged that she was not at all shocked about his arrest.

Yvonne says she asked him about flagging that information from the book but, Ron had “no sense of shame”, she said.

I am not surprised given he had a predilection then for young girls in Asia.

Though Yvonne wrote all about Ron, even his misdemeanors, he never stopped her from publishing the content.

Ron was “an unusual person” as he never felt like a corporate raider. He was very much a shy person.
