After a long time, Guy Ritchie finally locked the cast members for the live-action remake of “Aladdin.” Disney and Ritchie have officially announced the casting actors for Aladdin at Disney’s D23 Expo in California on Saturday.

Disney has confirmed ‘Will Smith’ to play his part as a Genie and the newcomer ‘Naomi Scott’ is going to be Aladdin’s, Jasmine. For the Aladdin’s role, Ritchie has signed a newcomer: Egyptian’s actor ‘Mena Massoud.’

Naomi is a British actress, who cast as a Pink Ranger in Power Ranger’s reboot. As for Massoud, he is set to star in the upcoming Jack Ryan TV series.

The big question is: Who is going to cast the role of Villian ‘Jafar’? Rumor says Ritchie wants to sign Peaky Blinders star ‘Tom Hardy’ for the Jafar’s role. But, no announcement has been made yet. It depends on the schedule of Tom and his interest in the script.

Ritchie found it difficult to get a lead actor for Aladdin. The studio was in search of someone having Middle-Eastern or Indian descent. There was a rumor that Vikas Gupta’s brother Siddhartha Gupta claimed for the role. But, it all stopped when Ritchie signed a newbie in the industry, Massoud.

Guy Ritchie is a Director for the movie. John August is the one who has written the new script for ‘Aladdin.’ Executive Producer is known to be Jonathan Eirich. Their team has expected great success through this film.
