Subsequently, Perry pulled the shoes from retail and issued an apology. Perry explained,

I was saddened when it was brought to my attention that it was being compared to painful images reminiscent of blackface. Our intention was never to inflict any pain. We have immediately removed them.

The singer who recently engaged to Orlando Bloom told that the intention behind making the shoes was ”a nod to modern art and surrealism.”

Katy Perry and her fiance Orlando Bloom engaged around February 14 February 2019. Prior to this, Katy Perry was in a married relationship with husband Russell Brand. Similarly, for Orlando Bloom, he was also in wedlock with partner Miranda Kerr previously.
