2020 just got even weirder. In other words, rapper Kanye West is officially running for the 2020 Presidential election race.
Yup, you read that right. Halfway through 2020, and it seems like this year still has full of surprises to offer. It’s true that Grammy-winning artist, Kanye West is actually running for the 2020 presidential election race.
The Stronger hitmaker announced the news himself on Twitter on Independence Day with the shocking information that he was indeed running for the presidential race. In his words, the father of four said:
“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States ! #2020VISION“
The tweet which has now received more than 1 million likes earned both negative and positive reactions alongside trolls. His wife Kim Kardashian quickly replied to her husband’s tweet to show her support.
Billionaire friend including Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk who formerly supported Democrat Andrew Yang also endorsed his support for Kanye by affirming publicly that the rapper had his back.
On the other than, this isn’t the first time Kanye announced on running for president as he first claimed about running for the 2020 Presidential race in 2015 at the MTV VMA’s. The Yeezy owner, however, later backed off from his plan and made the announcement for running for the 2024 presidential election.
But, clearly, West has changed his mind recently. And, while many States including New York, New Mexico, Texas, and Indiana have already declared its deadline to file for names, he can still run as an Independent candidate in other states.
