The tequila brand named Casamigos was founded by Mr. Clooney and his friends Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman in 2013. It has been sold to Diageo in a deal that worth the company at up to $1 billion which includes $700 million in cash beforehand and up to $300 million more if it strikes the sales targets.

Casamigos that interprets ‘house of friends,’ was started as a personal collection of Tequila meant just for Clooney’s friends and family. But later it was made public because they had to get licensed to continue for making the tequila.

According to Dealbook, in a statement, Mr. Clooney said,

“If you asked us four years ago if we had a billion-dollar company, I don’t think we would have said yes,”
