The year 2017 has been full of sexual misconduct issues. A makeup artist, Erin McParland who used to work at NFL Network has recently shared her firsthand experience with inappropriate sexual advances from former NFL players Eric Davis and Michael Irvin.

Erin McParland reported that she was repeatedly harassed by Davis and Irvin during her three years with the sports station. Erin McParland is not the first woman who accused them of sexual assault. Another makeup artist, Jami Cantor has also lodged allegations against a string of NFL Network personalities like Eric Weinberger, Marshall Faulk, Eric Davis, Donovan McNabb, Heath Evans, Warren Sapp, and Ike Taylor. The shocking fact is both the artists have been the victim of Eric Davis’ sexual misconduct.

On 21 December 2017, Erin McParland shared her first inappropriate sexual experience with Sports Illustrated. She accused Eric Davis by stating:

”It started during my second season with the NFL Network with a comment here and there. When Davis came to the makeup room, he would comment on how flexible I was when I leaned down to pick up a product. I brushed such comments off.”

It was not enough for Davis. Later he started to harass her by messaging on Instagram.

”He continued to remark on my flexibility and became suggestive about how good things could be between us sexually,” McParland said. “I continued to brush off these unwanted sexual comments.”

Davis crossed his limit later on when he grabbed and fondled her buttocks and rubbed his genitals into her leg. She was not alone in the NFL industry who was sexually assaulted by Davis. When she learned the truth from other artists too, she went straight to HR and complained about the inappropriate sexual incident inside the workplace. Davis left the company quietly and later hired by ESPN where McParland worked as a freelancer. Is this justice to the victim of sexual harassment?

Davis and Irvin have not responded anything to SI’s request for comment. However, VP of Communications NFL Media Alex Riethmille said to the network:

Ms. McParland brought forth allegations of inappropriate workplace conduct. NFL Media thoroughly investigated the allegations and took swift, appropriate remedial action, including severing our relationship with Mr. Davis. The NFL is committed to providing a safe work environment for all of our employees
